Warriors Roll Past Tellico Plains To Advance To Second Round

It was all business for Happy Valley on Friday night.

The Warriors rolled to a 45-6 victory over Tellico Plains in the opening round of the TSSAA Class 2A playoffs on Warrior Hill. With the win, Happy Valley will host the winner of the Bledsoe County and Smith County game on Warrior Hill next Friday night.

It was Happy Valley’s first playoff victory since the 2017 season.

Tyler Bailey had three touchdowns and finished with 101 yards on nine carries for the Warriors, while Keeline Releford added 112 yards on 10 carries.

Lane Parker recorded seven carries for 89 yards and a score.

It was all Happy Valley from the start.

HV opened the game as Parker scored on a 15-yard run, and AJ Rangel’s extra point gave the Warriors a 7-0 lead.

After the Warrior defense forced a fumble on the next play from scrimmage, Bailey scored on a short run as HV took a 14-0 lead.

Gabe McDougald gave Happy Valley a 21-0 lead after a quarter of play.

McDougald added a short touchdown in the second to give HV a 28-0 lead at the half.
Bailey scored on a 17-yard run in the third quarter and added a 65-yard score late in the quarter to give HV a 42-0 lead.

Rangel added a 24-yard field goal to account for the final score.
