Once Happy Valley started rolling, there was no looking back.
The Warriors used 32 second-quarter points and three defensive touchdowns to pull away and take a 52-0 Region 1-2A win over West Greene on Senior Night on Warrior Hill.
Happy Valley improves to 9-0 on the season.
HV took a 7-0 lead four minutes into the game after Gabe McDougald scored on a short run. The Warrior drive was set up by a 54-yard punt return from Artee Bahn.
The Warriors maintained a 7-0 advantage after a complete quarter of play.
Happy Valley opened the second quarter scoring as Keelin Releford scored on a four-yard run, and then Releford added a 40-yard scoop and score off a West Greene fumble to push the HV lead to 20-0 with 5:24 left in the half.
After the Warrior defense forced another WG fumble, Releford struck on a 23-yard touchdown run.
Releford scored his second defensive touchdown of the night with a 58-yard interception return for a touchdown.
The Warriors took a 39-0 lead into the half as Lane Parker caught a 39-yard pass from McDougald with 20 seconds left in the half.
Bahn opened the second half with a 75-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
Landon Keller accounted for the final scoring midway through the third as he intercepted a WG pass and took it nine yards for a touchdown.
Releford had four total touchdowns – two offensive and two defensive – and finished with eight carries for 85 yards, while McDougald had six carries for 63 yards and a score. McDougald was also 2-for-2 for 49 yards.
