Happy Valley was firing on all cylinders in a battle of unbeatens.
The Warriors ran to a 39-0 victory over Hampton in nonconference action on Warrior Hill on Friday night. With the win, HV improves to 4-0 on the season while Hampton moves to 3-1 on the season.
Happy Valley’s offense set the tone as the Warriors racked up 371 yards on the ground, while Hampton had 185 yards.
Lane Parker led the HV rushing attack with 155 yards on five carries with three touchdowns. Gabe McDougald added three more touchdowns with 104 yards on eight carries. Keeline Releford and Tyler Bailey added 58 and 42 yards, respectively.
Isaiah Belcher had 75 yards on 16 carries for the Bulldogs, while Connor McKinney and Peyton Townsend had 38 and 35 yards, respectively.
After Hampton recovered the opening kick after it bounced off an HV helmet, the Bulldogs were unable to get anything going.
HV struck quickly on the next drive as McDougald scored on a 52-yard run. AJ Rangel added the extra point.
McDougald pushed the lead to 13-0 after a quarter of play with a one-yard run.
Parker had a pair of touchdown runs – one from 72 yards out and the other from 34 yards out – to push the HV lead to 27-0 at the half.
Hampton moved deep into HV territory twice in the second, but saw turnovers end the drives.
The Warriors saw Parker score on a 38-yard run in the third and McDougald on a 24-yard run in the fourth to account for the final.
Hampton kept battling as the Bulldogs threatened to score late, as McKinney and Brock Shelby connected for a 32-yard completion, but Hampton was unable to get points on the board.
