Cloudland 7, North Greene 4 (softball)
The Lady ‘Landers used a big fourth inning to take a crucial District 1-A clash on Wednesday.
Cloudland broke a 4-4 stalemate in the fourth inning with three runs to take a victory over North Greene.
Krisi Bare had two hits and three RBI to lead the Cloudland attack, while Karah Fields, Taylor Hicks, and Marlee Hughes each tallied two hits.
Elizabethton 8, David Crockett 6 (baseball)
The Cyclones edged ahead in the final stages to take a nonconference victory.
Elizabethton tied the game at 2-2 in the third inning and added two runs in the fourth and fifth to extend the lead. The Pioneers got three runs back in the bottom of the fifth, but the Cyclones were able to hold on for the win.
Jaden Anderson finished the game 4-for-5 at the plate, while Padraig Murphy added two hits. Noah Rosato had two RBI.
Gage Treadway picked up the win as he allowed just two earned runs on six hits with five strikeouts in five innings of work.
Elizabethton 8, Volunteer 1 (Boys Tennis)
The Cyclones took care of business in a big way.
Elijah Smith, Kaden Street, Carson Peters, Alex Taylor, and Nickle Wilson all picked up singles win for Elizabethton.
The duo of Smith and Street took an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles, while Peters and Wilson won 8-1 at No. 2 doubles. Caden Miller and Taylor picked up an 8-5 win at No. 3 doubles.
Elizabethton 5, Volunteer 4 (Girls Tennis)
The Lady Cyclones edged ahead for a victory on Wednesday.
Susanna Digby picked up an 8-6 win at No. 1 singles, while Maggie Rowland captured an 8-5 win at No. 5 singles. Madelyn Outland and Alley Taylor also won their singles matches.
In doubles, Mattie Davis and Digby picked up an 8-6 win at No. 1, while Rowland and Outland won 8-1 at No. 3.
