Wednesday Round-up: Lady Cyclones take strong win over South

Elizabethton 14, Sullivan South 4 (softball)
The Lady Cyclones jumped out early and never looked back in a Three Rivers win.

Maggie Johnson was 4-for-5 at the play with four RBI to lead the way, while Madisun Pritchard was 3-for-5 with two RBI.

Kenidy Harris finished with three RBI, wile Marley Wagner had two RBI for the Lady Cyclones. In all, Elizabethton had 19 total hits in the game – including two hit performances from Cheyene Poiroux, Kallista Deprimo, Wagner and Harris.

In the circle, Pritchard picked up the win as she allowed just two earned runs on six hits with six strikeouts in five innings of work.

The Cyclones were unable to answer a pair of seventh-inning runs on Wednesday evening.

Ethan Meier, Gage Treadway, Karson Dillard and Evan Carter each had a hit apiece for Elizabethton, while Peyton Johnson, Treadway and Dillard plated runs.

On the mound, Ashton Wilson allowed just one earned run on four hits with four strikeouts in four innings of work.

Avery County 25, Cloudland 4 (baseball)
Collin Morgan had a day to lead the ‘Landers.

The sophomore went 2-for-2 at the plate with a homerun, triple and two RBIs. Hunter Blair and Tristan Hicks also had a hit for the ‘Landers.
