Friday Round-up: Lady Rangers, Lady Cyclones Pick Up District Wins

Unaka 61, University High 23
The Lady Rangers jumped out early and never looked back.

Unaka scored the first 15 points of the game to take a 15-0 lead after eight minutes of play. UHS held the momentum in the second quarter outscoring UH 14-7 to take a 29-7 halftime lead.

From there, Unaka was able to roll to the win.

Michelle Shields led the way with 24 points. Ari Sutherland scored nine points, while Keyona Hague added eight points. Kalli Shepard scored six points.

Elizabethton 63, Tennessee High 43
The Lady Cyclones methodically pulled away to take a district win Friday evening.

EHS jumped out to a 13-8 lead after a quarter of play and pushed the lead to 12 points at the half.

Elizabethton maintained the advantage throughout the third quarter. The Lady Cyclones left no doubt in the fourth as they outscored Tennessee High 20-12 to secure the win.

Reagan May had 15 points to lead EHS, while Jamira Smalls scored 14 points. Rylee May and Kayelyn Nave scored 11 points apiece.

Addie Wilhoit had 20 points to lead Tennessee High.

Johnson County 64, Happy Valley 46
The Lady Longhorns pulled away in the third quarter.

Cayden Anderson led HV with 21 points, while Josephine Zeoli had 16 points. Mackenzie McClain and

Audrey Shaw finished with 19 points apiece to lead Johnson County.

Boys
Tennessee High 75, Elizabethton 53
The Cyclones came up short on Friday night.

Tennessee High jumped out to a 26-18 lead at the half, but Elizabethton was able to stay within striking distance as they trailed 41-33 at the half. The Vikings were able to slowly pull away in the second to take the win.

Hudson Pate led the Cyclones with 18 points, while Justin Whitehead had nine points. Nathan Bailey and Hudson Smith scored eight points apiece. Andrew Barnett scored seven points.

Colin Brown led Tennessee High with 23 points.

University High 81, Unaka 56
The Rangers came up short on Friday night.

John Hardin led the way with 17 points. Rylan Crabtree scored 16 points for the Rangers.

Andrew Cole led UH with 26 points.
