Two Carter County teams were ranked in this week’s TSWA Prep Football poll.

Hampton climbed up a spot to No. 4 in Class A, and Happy Valley entered the poll at No. 9 in Class 2A.

In Class A, Hampton tallied 144 points and one first-place vote to come in No. 4. The Bulldogs were 22 points behind No. 3 Coalfield.

South Pittsburg received 11-of-20 first-place votes to come in at No. 1, while McKenzie had nine first-place votes to come in at No. 2.

Humboldt, Sale Creek and Richland were No. 5, No. 6, and No. 7, respectively.

In Class 2A, Happy Valley entered the poll at No. 9 – just one point behind No. 8 Bledsoe County. Mt. Pleasant was No. 7 with 70 points.

Huntingdon checked in at No. 1 as the unanimous No. 1, while Marrior County came in at No. 2. East Nashville, East Robertson and Milan rounded out the top five.
