Lady Cyclones Roll Past Unicoi, Cyclones Drop Hard-Fought Battle

The Lady Cyclones rolled to a road district win on Tuesday night.

EHS jumped out to a 12-4 lead in the opening minutes and maintained a 17-12 lead after a quarter of play. Elizabethton ended the half on a 9-0 run to maintain a 32-23 lead at the half.

In the third quarter, any thoughts of a comeback were quickly erased as the Lady Cyclones opened the frame with a 14-0 run and never looked back.

Peyton McGee scored 12 points to pace EHS. Jamira Smalls scored 10 points, while Kayleyn Nave added eight points. Adrian Heading and Reagan May scored seven points each.

Unicoi County 70, Elizabethton 60
The Cyclones were unable to answer a third-quarter Unicoi run on Tuesday night.

It was a back-and-forth battle in the opening half as UC led 13-12 after a quarter of play, and maintained a 31-26 lead at the break. Unicoi opened the second half on an 11-3 run to take control.
Elizabethton continued to battle but was unable to rally past Unicoi in the closing minutes.

Hudson Pate led Elizabethton with a game-high 28 points, while Zack Wallin had 11 points. Andrew Barnett scored nine points.
