Monday Round-up: Lady ‘Landers roll past UH



Cloudland 5, University High 0 (softball)
The Lady ‘Landers took an early lead and never looked back.

CHS racked out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning and pushed it out to 5-0 in the second inning. From there, Kenzie Birchfield limited UH’s opportunities with a stellar performance in the circle to held Cloudland roll to the win.

Karah Fields and Jasmine Birchfield had two hits apiece. Heaven Caraway, Krisi Bare and K. Birchfield had a hit apiece.

K. Birchfield finished the game with 14 strikeouts and held the Lady Bucs to just three hits.

Unaka 1, Providence Academy 1 (Baseball)
John Ramsey dominated from the mound to carry the Rangers to a nonconference win.

Unaka saw Ramsey limit Providence as he pitched a complete-game shutout.
The Rangers took the lead and win when Reid Taylor pushed the lone run across home plate.

Wise Central 4, Hampton 3 (Baseball)
Hampton was unable to sneak past the Warriors for a road win on Monday.

After Wise took a 3-0 lead going into the fourth, Hampton erupted for three runs to even things up in the fourth as Mitchell Tolley drove in two runs. The Bulldogs, however, were unable to answer a Warrior run in the fifth.

Dalton Rouse had three hits to lead the way for the Bulldogs, while Josh Owens and Tolley had a hit apiece.

On the mound, Morgan Lyons allowed just three earned runs on four hits with five strikeouts.
