The Region 1-A Girls’ Championship game has a new home.

The title game between Cloudland and Unaka has been moved to Daniel Boone High School from Cocke County High School. The game is still set for 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

Daniel Boone was an approved alternate site as it hosted the District 1-A tournament last week.

After the two District 1-A teams won both semifinal match-ups on Monday, the schools were allowed to petition the venue change with the permission of Cocke County High School’s athletic department to the TSSAA. Cocke County hosted Monday’s action and will host the remainder of the boys’ tournament – barring a District 1 sweep on Tuesday.

Cloudland and Unaka will meet for the Region 1-A crown with the winner hosting a substate game on Saturday. The loser will have to travel on Saturday for their substate match-up.
