Unaka, Cloudland baseball drop heartbreakers

The Rangers found themselves on the wrong end of a walkoff on Tuesday as the Bucs scored on a sacrifice fly to take the win.

Bryson Street went 2-for-3 at the plate, while Dakota Gallimore and Davy Ensor went 2-for-4. John-Wesley Hardin and Isaac Hill each added a hit.

On the mound, John Ramsey allowed three runs on six hits with five strikeouts.

The ‘Landers dropped a heartbreaker in the first game of a conference doubleheader on Rebel Hill. Cloudland took a 1-0 lead in the top of the third with a single run. The Rebels, however, forced extra innings with two-outs in the home side of the fifth, and then score the game winner in the bottom of the sixth.

Andrew Julian went 2-for-2 at the plate, while Joseph Trivette and Dillion Johnson each added a hit for Cloudland. Johnson pitched a gem on the mound for Cloudland as he allowed just one earned run on five hits with four strikeouts.

In the second game, South Greene took a 6-0 lead in the top of the second and never looked back.

Mark Tester, Noah Arnett and Dakota Johnson all went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Cloudland.
