Unaka made quick work of University High.
The Lady Rangers rolled to a 54-18 victory over the Lady Bucs in the opening round of the District 1-A tournament. With the win, Unaka advances to take on Cloudland on Saturday in Roan Mountain, and also clinched a Region 1-A berth.
Against the UH, there was never any doubt.
Lyndie Ramsey scored 13 points in the opening quarter as Unaka stormed out to an 18-4 lead in the first eight minutes.
Ramsey and company continued to limit UH and pushed the lead to 27-5 at the break.
From there, Unaka hit cruise and rolled to the win.
Ramsey, who was honored for her 1,000th career point before the game, tallied 29 points.
Mailey Guy added eight points, while Tara Whitehead and Kiki Forney had five points apiece.
