Lady Rangers Come Up Short At North Greene

In a battle of the top spot in the Watauga Valley, Unaka was unable to overcome a big second half by North Greene.

The Lady Rangers came up short in a 53-35 decision in Baileyton in a battle of District 1-A unbeaten teams.

Macy Ensor jumpstarted Unaka with a pair of 3-pointers, and Lyndie Ramsey added a three of her own to give Unaka a 9-6 lead after a quarter of play.

Julie Simerly and Ramsey had big second-quarters, and Kiki Forney added a big 3-pointer as Unaka held a 24-20 halftime lead.

North Greene’s offense got warmed up in the third as the Lady Huskies outscored Unaka 19-5 in the frame to take control.

The Lady Rangers continued to battle in the fourth, but were unable to rally.

Ramsey finished with 15 points, while Ensor tossed in 10 points. Simerly and Forney had five and four points, respectively.

Brooklyn Anderson led North Greene with 20 points.
