Lady Rangers dispatch NG; Rangers fall in fourth

The Lady Rangers have found a groove.

Unaka dispatched North Greene for a 52-37 victory – the third straight win for the Lady Rangers.


Unaka was unable to mount a charge in the final four minutes as they dropped a 76-62 decision to the Huskies in the boys game.

For Unaka in the girls’ game, they turned the pressure up in the second.

After leading 12-7 in the first quarter, the Lady Rangers doubled up the Lady Huskies in the second period by outscoring NG 17-6 in the frame.

The second half saw the Lady Rangers hold NG at bay to take the win.

Lexi Garland had 14 points. Madison Ensor and Kaitlyn Weaver had eight points apiece.

The Rangers and Huskies traded shots for most of the first half before NG muscled out to a 30-25 lead at the half. A late run saw North Greene quickly extend the lead to double-digits to secure the win.

Kyler Lewis had 32 points to lead all scorers. Austin Beauprez scored eight points.
