Unaka was unable to edge back ahead of Sullivan East on Tuesday night.
The Lady Rangers dropped a tough 58-50 decision to the Lady Patriots at the Triten Classic at Sullivan East.
Jada Whitehead scored seven points in the first quarter as UHS trailed 13-7 after eight minutes of play but continued to stay in touch with SE in the second. Myah Parlier had six points in the second period as Unaka trailed 26-21 at the break.
In the second half, Parlier continued to have the hot hand. However, Unaka was unable to rally past the host Lady Patriots.
Parlier finished with a game-high 19 points, while Savannah Tipton had 10 points. Whitehead tallied seven points. Madison Pierce added six points.
Kayla Honaker had 17 points to lead East.
