Lady Rangers, Rangers fall to South Greene

Unaka was unable to rally in nonconference action on Monday night.

The Lady Rangers dropped a 59-51 decision to South Greene, while the Rangers fell 54-36.


The Lady Rangers were unable to complete a rally on Monday night.

After trailing 37-23 at the half, the Lady Rangers were able to trim the SG lead in the third quarter. However, the Lady Rebels hit some timely shots to end the Lady Ranger rally.

Jada Whitehead had 14 points, while Lyndie Ramsey added 11 points. Tara Whitehead and Macy Ensor finished with six points apiece.

In the boys’ game, the Rangers were unable to overcome a slow second quarter in nonconference action Friday night.

After holding an 8-7 advantage after the first eight minutes, Unaka saw the Rebels go on a 15-2 run to take a 22-10 lead into the half.

Unaka continued to slowly chip at the SG lead, but was unable to complete the rally in the second half.

Will Sexton had 14 points to pace the rangers, while Ryan Johnson had 12 points.
