The Lady Rangers were unable to keep their season alive on Monday.

Unaka dropped a 62-41 decision to North Greene in the Region 1-A semifinals at Walters State.

Points were hard to come by for Unaka in the opening minutes.

North Greene jumped out to a 10-2 lead over the first four minutes before Lyndie Ramsey and Unaka got things settled down. The Lady Rangers, however, trailed 16-8 at the end of the first quarter.

Kiki Forney and Mailey Guy hit buckets in the second quarter for UHS, but North Greene was able to score 17 points in the frame to take a 33-12 lead at the half.

Unaka continued to battle in the second half, but was unable to make a run at the Lady Huskies.

Ramsey finished with 23 points to lead the way for Unaka, while Jada Whitehead finished with seven points. Guy and Zoie Grindstaff had four and three points, respectively.

Haleigh Bernard had 17 points to lead North Greene. Emily Britton and Shelby Davenport had 12 and 11 points, respectively.
