Unaka was determined to hand Sullivan North their second consecutive upset. However, the Golden Raiders had another ideas.
The Rangers were unable to keep pace with a quick SN start as they dropped a 49-14 decision. With the loss, Unaka falls to 1-4 on the season, while Sullivan North improved to 5-1 – a week after South Greene rallied to hand SN an unexpected loss.
On Friday night, North rode the running game and jumped out to a 28-0 lead at the half.
In the third quarter, Climate Controllers Player of the Week John Boy Ramsey got UHS on the board as he found Nicholas Bowers for a 34-yard touchdown pass, and the duo connected for the two-point conversion. Unaka added another touchdown in the final quarter as Ramsey hit Devon Jarrett for a 29-yard touchdown.
For the night, Ramsey finished with 162 yards on 17-of-28 passing.
Unaka is set to travel to Cloudland on Friday.
