The Rangers dropped a heartbreaker on Friday night.
Unaka saw North Greene hit a buzzer-beater to take a 66-65 decision over the Rangers on Friday night in Baileyton. The Lady Rangers dropped a 70-43 decision to the Lady Huskies.

The boys’ game saw the teams play nearly an even game.

After ending the first quarter in a 14-14 stalemate, NG held a slim one-point advantage at the break.
Will Sexton and the Rangers kept answering the Huskies in the second half.

Sexton gave Unaka a 65-63 lead with six seconds left in the game. North Greene, however, took advantage of a Turner Bailey 3-pointer to take the victory.

Sexton finished with 32 points. Ryan Johnson and Joseph Slagle had 12 points apiece.

In the girls’ game, the Lady Rangers were unable to keep pace with a fast-paced NG offense.

The Lady Huskies raced out to a 23-7 lead in the first quarter, but Unaka was able to trim the second in the second quarter. The third quarter, however, was too much to overcome as the Lady Huskies used a 23-3 run to pull away and secure the win.

Kiki Forney led Unaka with 15 points, while Jada Whitehead added seven points.
