The Rangers dropped a 63-42 decision to District 1-A top-seed University High in the Region 1-A semifinals at Sullivan North. The loss ends Unaka’s season one game shy of the sectional round and the Region 1-A Championship game.

The Rangers had a balanced attack in the second stanza with four players reaching the score book. However, UH was able to maintain their lead by taking a 31-16 lead at the half.

The Rangers continued to fight in the second half as Will Sexton and Hill had four points each in the third quarter and Daniel Ensor added three. Ramsey came alive in the fourth with seven points in the period, but Unaka was unable to mount a rally.

Ramsey finished with 13 points, while Hill and Sexton had 12 and 10 points, respectively.

Meredith led UH with a game-high 28 points. Marshall Fleenor added 11 points – all of which came in the second half.
