Unaka picked up a big Region 1-A win on Friday night.

The Rangers hit the gas and never looked back as they rolled to a 62-20 victory over Jellico on the road.

The win improves the Rangers to 2-2 on the year and 2-1 in Region 1-A action.

After the teams traded possessions to open the game, Unaka broke onto the scoreboard with a 26-yard Landon Ramsey touchdown pass to Devin Ramsey.

That gave the Rangers an 8-0 lead after a quarter play.
Jellico trimmed the lead with 7:52 left in the first half with a short touchdown, but Unaka answered with a statement drive that was capped off when Ramsey scored on a five-yard touchdown run.

The Rangers pushed the lead to 24-6 with 2:10 left in the half when Jamol Blamo broke free for a 70-yard touchdown run.

Unaka, however, wasn’t done yet as D. Ramsey took a reverse jet sweep and raced 45 yards for the touchdown as the Rangers took a 32-6 lead into the half.

The second half continued to be all Unaka.

Blamo and D. Ramsey found the endzone in the second half as the Rangers were never threatened in the second half.

Unaka returns to action next Friday as Happy Valley is set to visit Stoney Creek for a non-conference clash.
