It was a successful night on Stoney Creek for Unaka.
The Lady Rangers rolled to a 57-21 District 1-A victory over Sullivan North, while the Rangers blasted the Raiders for a 69-40 win.
In the boys’ game, Unaka wasted no time getting out front.
The Rangers took a double-digit lead in the first quarter and maintained a 19-8 advantage at the end of the quarter. Unaka pushed the lead to 15 points at the half.
In the second half, it was much the same as Rangers methodically added to their lead.
John Ramsey and Isaac Hill led the way with 18 points apiece, while Ryan Johnson had 17 points.
For the Lady Rangers, the defense set the tone.
Unaka took a 13-4 lead after the first quarter, and pushed the advantage to 27-10 at the half. From there, UHS hit the cruise control and rolled to the win.
Myah Parlier had 21 points to lead all scorers. Jada Whitehead had eight points, while Savannah Tipton and Macy Ensor had seven points each.
