The Lady Rangers made a strong statement to open the 2017 Eastman Invitational in Kingsport with wins over Science Hill and Cherokee.

The Lady Rangers grabbed an early lead and held on for a win over the Lady Hilltoppers.
Katlyn Weaver, Sarah Tipton and Haley Fair each had a 2-for-3 performance at the plate, while Madison Pierce, Sarah Hardin, Erica Potter and Taylor Shanks each added a hit.
Corie Scheuttler pitched a gem in the circle as she allowed just two earned runs on five hits with nine strikeouts.
Unaka 4, Cherokee 3
The Lady Rangers scored four runs in the final two innings to take the win over Cherokee.
Tipton went 2-for-2 at the plate for Unaka, and Madison Ensor went 2-for-3. Sarah Hardin picked up the win in the pitching circle as she allowed just three earned runs on seven hits with four strikeouts.
