Unaka finished the regular season in style.
The Rangers stormed to a 30-12 victory at Sunbright to cap of the 2019 regular season. Unaka is set to open the Class A playoffs next Friday at Greenback.
The Rangers jumped out in the first quarter as Landon Ramsey hit Austin Drew for a 52-yard touchdown. The two-point conversion failed as UHS maintained a 6-0 lead after a quarter of play.
Sunbright, however, evened things up at 6-6 in the first minute of the second quarter with a 10-yard touchdown by Colton Nitzschke.
On the ensuing Unaka drive, Logan Benway scored on a one-yard carry and then added the two-point conversion. The final minute of the second quarter saw Landon Ramsey find Devin Ramsey for a 25-yard touchdown, and Drew Smith ran in the conversion to send the Rangers into the locker room with a 22-6 lead.
Matthew Erickson came up big for the Unaka defense in the third quarter as he jumped in front of a Tiger pass.
That set-up a 19-yard touchdown from Ramsey to Drew midway through the third quarter.
Benway added the conversion and the Rangers held on from there for the win.
