Carter County Golfers Shine In District 1-A Tournament Eastern Conference Qualifier

Carter County shined in the District 1-A Tournament Eastern Conference Qualifier on Tuesday at Elizabethton Golf Course.

Elizabethton saw both the boys’ and girls’ teams claim the team wins, while Hampton, Happy Valley, and Unaka saw golfers qualify for Thursday’s District 1-A tournament.

The District 1-A Tournament is set for Thursday at Greeneville’s Link Hills Country Club.

On the girls’ side, Elizabethton secured the title with a team total of 204. Clara Roe and Chloe Rockett each fired a 102 to lead EHS, while Callie Mosely carded a 103. Neyland Wilber recorded a 113.

Happy Valley freshman Brailey Ingram claimed the top individual honor with a low round of 92. Hampton’s Hadley Vines advanced to Thursday’s tournament with a round of 107, while teammate Parsla Deboard also advanced with a 120.

On the boys’ side, Elizabethton advanced with a score of 322. Bryson Hardin led the way with a 77. Marshall Holtsclaw carded a 79, while Saige Rose tallied an 82. Gage Stout, Collin Whitehead, and Tyler York also had solid rounds for EHS.

Unaka’s Clayton Estep advanced with a round of 87, while teammate Noah Sams secured a spot with a 90.

Hampton’s Cadon Gwyn also secured a spot for Thursday as he carded an 89.
