Unaka took care of business on Tuesday.
The Lady Rangers advanced to the District 1-A Softball Championship game and clinched a berth in the Region 1-A tournament with a 2-1 victory over University High.
After the game was scoreless through three innings, the Lady Bucs took a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth. Unaka, however, answered in the next frame as Katlyn Weaver drove in two runs with a hit to give the Lady Rangers the lead once and for all.
Sarah Tipton went 2-for-3 at the plate, while Erica Potter and Weaver each added a hit.
Corie Schuttler picked up the win in the pitching circle as she allowed just one run on three hits and recorded eight strikeouts in a complete-game effort.
The Lady Rangers will take on the winner of the University High and North Greene elimination game in Thursday’s championship. First pitch is slated for 7 p.m. at ETSU.
