For the first Applebee’s Player of the Week, we had a difficult decision. However, one player stood out among the candidates.
Jerry Lunsford captured honors for his performance in Hampton’s victory over Unicoi County. Against the Blue Devils, the sophomore recorded two offensive touchdowns, a three-yard run and a 31-yard reception. In addition, he returned an interception for a touchdown and recorded nine tackles.
On top of it all, Friday night was the first game back from injury after Lunsford tore his ACL last season.
Honorable mentions included Hampton quarterback Coby Jones and Cloudland’s Noah Arnett.
