Best of Carter County Sports Program of the Year

We wrap up the Best of Carter County Sports in style as we the school that had the best overall school. After calculating your votes, it was a clear winner as Elizabethton took top honors of the year.
Elizabethton saw the women’s basketball team claim the first major team sport title in school history, while Danielle Vines rolled to an individual women’s tennis title while only losing two sets all season long.
Ethan Thomas and the football team went 10-2, while the volleyball and cross country teams had solid seasons. Men’s basketball was unable to return to substate despite a strong regular season.
During the spring, track had solid showings as Katie May, Abbi Pierce, Maci Shell, Haley Keylon, Heather Feuchtenbeger, Kyra McCrary and Kaitlyn Matheson all qualified for the state meet. Elizabethton softball and baseball also extended their seasons with postseason wins, but were unable to make to the substate round.
All in all, it was a historic season for Elizabethton, and they look to continue that in 2014-15.
