It might have been a slow start, but that didn’t deter Elizabethton.
The Cyclones pulled away after a sluggish start as they rolled to a 62-49 victory over Happy Valley on Tuesday night.
After the Warriors took a 10-9 lead into the second quarter, the Cyclones battled to take a seven-point advantage at the half. In the third quarter, the Warriors continued to battle, but Tyler Nichols and the Cyclones extended the lead to 44-33 heading into the final period.
Josh Hammonds and the Warriors trimmed the lead back to six points. However, that was as close as they could get in the stanza.
Bo Pless had a game-high 16 points, while Conley Bowers added 13 points. Nichols tallied 11 points in the game.
Hammonds and Nathan Kyte had 15 and 11 points, respectively, to lead Happy Valley.
