The District 1-AA Tournament field is set.
The Road to Murfreesboro begins on Wednesday, Feb. 19, at Sullivan East High School for both boys and girls.
For the boys, Sullivan South and Elizabethton claimed the top-two seeds in the tournament, while Sullivan Central and Sullivan East are the top-seeded teams in the girls’ bracket.
All four teams received a bye and also clinched a berth in the Region 1-AA tournament.
On the boys’ side, action begins with a play-in game on Wednesday as No. 6 Happy Valley will take on No. 7 Johnson County. The winner of the match-up will advance to take on No. 3 Sullivan East in Friday’s quarterfinals, while No. 4 Unicoi County and No. 5 Sullivan Central will face off in the other quarterfinal.
Saturday’s semifinals will see No. 2 Elizabethton take on the winner of the Sullivan East and Happy Valley/Johnson County game. The other semifinal will put No. 1 Sullivan South against the winner of the Unicoi County/Sullivan Central game.
The semifinal winners will face off in the District 1-AA Championship game on Tuesday, Feb. 25 at 7:30p, while the semifinal losers will play before the title game at 6p.
On the girls’ side, the tournament will see No. 6 Unicoi County take on No. 7 Happy Valley in the play-in game. Thursday’s quarterfinals will see No. 4 Johnson County square off against No. 5 Sullivan South, while Elizabethton will take on the winner of the Happy Valley/Unicoi County game.
The Saturday semifinals will see No. 1 Sullivan Central take on the winner of the Johnson County/South game, while No. 2 Sullivan East will take on either Elizabethton or the play-in game winner.
On Monday, Feb. 24, the District 1-AA Championship is set for 7:30p between the two semifinal winners, while consolation game will tip off at 6p.
