For Auburn Head Coach Bruce Pearl, Saturday’s game may be in a familiar setting. However, it won’t be like any games in the past.

Pearl and his Auburn basketball team will take on Tennessee at Thompson Boling Arena in what is Pearl’s return to Knoxville since dismissal following the 2011 season after NCAA violations were found in the Tennessee program.

Tennessee fans loved Pearl, so much so that it lead many to believe that played a role in Cuonzo Martin’s departure last season, and Pearl touched on that love in Thursday morning’s interview with WXSM’s Morning Monster. The Tigers head coach also talked about his love of Knoxville and the University of Tennessee.

Pearl led the Vols to 145 victories during his six seasons in Knoxville, including a Sweet 16 appearance. Tennessee averaged 24 wins per season with Pearl at the helm.
