Hampton came up short on Friday night.
The upset-minded Bulldogs were unable to keep pace with York Institute as Hampton fell 42-8 in the opening round of the Class 2A playoffs on the road.
The loss concludes Hampton’s season.
York took control early with an early touchdown run, and the Dragons held a 14-0 lead after a quarter of play. A pair of York touchdowns in the second half gave the Dragons a 28-0 halftime lead.
Hampton continued to battle in the second half as Dom Burleson scored for the Bulldogs. Isaiah Belcher added the two-point conversion.
The Bulldogs, however, were unable to keep the rally going.
