Cloudland girls upended

A tight-knit defensive effort from Dobyns-Bennett was enough to stymie any Lady Highlanders chance of a Trailblazer Classic repeat.

Cloudland had the early 10-3 lead through the end of one but the Lady Indians went on to outscore the reigning tourney champs 26-9 in the second en route to a 58-30 winon Monday.

The depleted Lady ‘Landers will finish no worse than fourth, playing Unicoi County in the third place game while Dobyns-Bennett will play Daniel Boone in the title contest.
Sasha Morrisette led the Lady Indians with a 20-plus effort and led the defense that held Cloudland to just 11 points in the second half.
Senior Kendall Mull led Cloudland with 14 points and was followed by a near double digit scoring effort from Payton Johnson (eight points). Faith Russell and Davi Heaton rounded out the scoring with six and two, respectively.
