Cloudland, Happy Valley Split Wednesday Contests

It was a split night on Warrior Hill.

The Warriors rolled to a 59-33 victory over Cloudland in the boys’ contest, while the Lady ‘Landers picked up a 43-23 victory over Happy Valley.

In the boys’ game, Happy Valley jumped out early.
HV took an 11-5 lead after a quarter of play and pushed the advantage to 24-11 at the half.

Cloudland continued to battle, but the Warriors were able to stretch out the lead in the third quarter to secure the win.

Cole Deakins had 19 points to lead HV, while Dakota Grindstaff finished with 15 points. Landon Babb added 14 points.

Dylan Shell led Cloudland with 18 points. Caden Clarke tossed in seven points for the ‘Landers.

In the girls’ game, Cloudland used a quick start to take control.

The Lady ‘Landers jumped out to an 11-4 first-quarter advantage. HV continued to fight, but was unable to cut into the CHS lead as Cloudland held a 19-7 lead at the half.

The teams played even in the third quarter, but the Lady ‘Landers secured the win by holding HV to just three points in the final eight minutes.

Ella Benfield had a game-high 14 points for Cloudland, while Isabella Christman tossed in 10 points. Kendall Birchfield added six points.

Kenzie Ramey led HV with eight points, and Kadie Bailey added seven points.
