Cyclones, Bulldogs hold steady in AP poll

Elizabethton and Hampton held steady in this week’s Tennessee AP Prep Football poll for Week 11.

In Class 4A, Elizabethton continued to hold down the top spot with 176 points. The Cyclones claimed 16-of-18 first-place votes after holding off Sullivan South on Friday.


Haywood County was ranked No. 2 in the poll, with Anderson County and Greeneville ranking No. 3 and No. 4, respectively.

In Class 2A, the Bulldogs held steady at No. 9 with 47 points. Hampton, who rolled past Unaka for a homecoming win, was eight points behind No. 8 Fairley and 14 points behind No. 6 South Greene.

Peabody was No. 1 with 17-of-18 first-place votes, while Trousdale County and Meigs County were No. 2 and No. 3.
