Elizabethton took care of business in a big way.
The Cyclones rolled to a 62-0 victory over Seymour on Senior Night inside Citizens Bank Stadium on Thursday night.
With the win, Elizabethton clinched the Region 1-4A No. 2 seed and a first-round home playoff game.
It was all Elizabethton from the opening kick.
After Nate Stephens had a 56-yard run on the opening play, the Cyclones got on the board when Cade Russell caught a shovel pass from Dalton Mitchell and took it 13-yards for the score.
After Jeriah Griffin scored on a shovel pass, Teddy Orton caught a Mitchell pass and took it for a 36-yard touchdown.
Stephens pushed the lead to 28-0 with a 27-yard touchdown, and then the defense got in the scoring act as Luke Whaley nabbed a pick-six to send
Elizabethton into the second quarter with a 35-0 lead.
Mitchell and Russell connected early in the second time of the night with a six-yard score.
Stephens added a short-touchdown run later in the quarter, and the Cyclones took a 55-0 lead into the half after Russell added a two-yard touchdown.
Elizabethton capped the scoring in the second half as Gib Maupin hit Eli Blevins for a 27-yard touchdown pass.
Mitchell was 8-of-10 passing for 142 yards and four touchdowns, while Stephens had 127 yards. Russell ended the night with seven carries for 75 yards.
