Cyclones Cruise Past Volunteer

It was all Elizabethton on Friday night.

Elizabethton captured a 42-0 win over Volunteer on the road in Region 1-4A play.

Elizabethton started rolling early.

Rhett Slagle hit Justius Wallin for a 24-yard touchdown to cap a 10-play drive on their first possession of the night.

After Zach Wallin stopped the next Volunteer drive with an interception, Jaiden Wallin scored on a four-yard run to give EHS a 14-0 advantage.

Elizabethton pushed the lead to 21-0 early in the second as Slagle hit Bryson Rowland for a 20-yard score.

Jaiden Wallin scored on a 13-yard run to cap a strong drive to push EHS to a 28-0 advantage.

Elizabethton took a 35-0 lead into the half after Rowland intercepted Volunteer and raced 45 yards for the touchdown.

The Cyclones accounted for the final score in the second half as Kyron Smalls caught a short pass from Slagle.

This week’s Climate Controllers Player of the Week Slagle went 13-of-20 for 170 yards, while Jaiden Wallin had 73 yards on eight carries.
