Cyclones, Lady Cyclones take Three Rivers wins at East

Elizabethton picked up a statement win on Tuesday night.

The Cyclones slowly pulled away by halftime lead and then held on for a 68-59 victory over Sullivan East. The Lady Cyclones jumped out early and never looked back to take a 84-41 victory over the Lady Patriots.

Behind the strong play of Bo Pless, the Cyclones took a 16-12 lead into the second quarter. Michael Robinson and Elizabethton outscored the Patriots 18-12 before half to take a 34-24 lead.

The Patriots started to cut into the Elizabethton lead, but the Cyclones held an eight-point lead after three quarters of play. Sullivan East, however, wasn’t done as they pulled within three points in the final minutes of play. Elizabethton answered with a key points to preserve the win.

Pless had a game-high 24 points. Robinson added 12 points, and Carter Everett had 11 points. Hayden Townsend scored 10 points.

For the Lady Cyclones, it was business as usual.

Elizabethton ran to a 27-7 lead in the first quarter, and never looked back. EHS held a 30-point advantage at the half.

Kayla Marosites scored 29 points, while Emily Kiser scored 15 points. Kelci Marosites and Emily Schubert had 14 points apiece in the win.

For the game, Elizabethton hit 10 3-pointers as the Lady Cyclones moved to 23-0 on the season.
