Elizabethton left no doubt in the second half.
The Cyclones scored 35 points in the second half to take a 42-0 win over Daniel Boone on Friday night at ETSU. With the win, Elizabethton improves to 3-1 on the year.
Daniel Boone was able to control the time of possession in the first half as they limited the number of Cyclone offensive plays. EHS got on the board in the final seconds of the second quarter as Rhett Slagle hit Zach Wallin for a 10-yard touchdown.
That gave EHS a 7-0 lead at the half after a William Bowers extra point.
The Cyclones came out firing on all cylinders in the second half.
Slagle capped a 90-yard drive with a six-yard touchdown run to open the third quarter, while Justin Whitehead caught a 14-yard pass from Slagle as EHS pushed the lead to 21-0 after three complete quarters.
In the fourth quarter, Elizabethton saw the defense get in the scoring act as Justius Wallin picked up a Boone fumble and he returned it 75 yards for the touchdown. Tucker Taylor forced the fumble.
Elizabethton left no doubt as C.J. Mathes scored on a 41-yard touchdown and Jaiden Wallin added a seven-yard touchdown.
Slagle was 9-of-13 passing for 117 yards.
