It was a successful business trip for Elizabethton on Friday night.

The Cyclones dispatched Northview 31-20 in Region 1-4A action in Kodak. With the win, Elizabethton improved to 4-2 overall and 3-0 in region play.

After a scoreless first quarter, Will Bowers opened the scoring with a 32-yard field goal in the opening seconds of the second quarter. Northview countered with a touchdown, but Peyton Lingerfelt answered with a 19-yard touchdown run to regain the lead for the Cyclones.

The Elizabethton defense came up big with a fumble recovery, and William McDuffie capitalized with a one-yard touchdown run as Elizabethton took a 17-7 lead into the half.

In the third quarter, the Cougars cut into the lead with 7:15 left in the frame. However, Lingerfelt scored on a short touchdown run to push the lead to 24-13 with 2:13 left in the third.

Northview trimmed the lead once again in the fourth, but Lingerfelt added a score midway through the fourth to secure the win for the Orange and Black.
