Elizabethton survived and advanced on Friday night.
The Cyclones erased a 13-point deficit to take a 14-13 victory over Fulton in the Class 4A playoffs in Elizabethton.
With the win, Elizabethton advances to the second round where the Black and Orange will travel to Anderson County next Friday night.
Neither team was able to get anything going in the first half as the first half ended in a scoreless stalemate.
In the third quarter, Fulton took a 7-0 lead as Albert Johnson scored on a 65-yard run early in the quarter.

After Elizabethton was stopped on fourth down near the end zone, the Falcons used a quick drive and extended the lead when Javon Moulden tossed the ball over to Derrick Smith who found Travis Ballinger for a 35-yard touchdown.
The extra point was unsuccessful as Fulton held a 13-0 lead.
Elizabethton, however, battled back.
After Kyron Smalls used a 43-yard kick return to give EHS good field position, Rhett Slagle hit Zach Wallin to convert and a fourth-and-long, and that set-up a Justius Wallin touchdown from seven yards out.
After the Elizabethton defense forced a quick Falcon punt, Wallin scored on a 13-yard run – after converting a fourth-and-short.
Will Bowers added the extra point to give EHS a 14-13 advantage.
Fulton was unable to take advantage of a kickoff return that started their final drive at midfield, and the Cyclone defense forced a punt. From there, Elizabethton was able to secure the win.
Wallin had 17 carries for 110 yards. Jaiden Wallin added 11 carries for 68 yards.
Johnson had 12 carries for 112 yards for Fulton.
