It was mission accomplished for the Elizabethton baseball team.

The Cyclones rolled to an 11-0 victory in the winner’s bracket finale in the District 1-AA Tournament to earn a spot in the title game as well as a spot in the Region 1-AA tournament.

The EHS offense got things cranking in the third inning.

Evan Carter hit a single that plated Ethan Eggleston for the game’s first run, and Corey Russell brought Carter home in the next at-bat to give EHS a 2-0 lead going to the fourth.

In the fourth, EHS exploded for six runs to take full control. The sixth inning saw the Cyclones leave no doubt as they scored the final three runs of the game.

Logan Estep and Russell had two hits apiece, while Evan Perkins, Matthew Dailey, Colten Miller, Eggleston and Carter each had a hit.

Tre Shoun pitched a shutout on the mound as he allowed just five hits.

Elizabethton now awaits the winner of the Unicoi County and Sullivan East game. The championship game is set for Tuesday at 8 p.m. at Cardinal Park.
