Cyclones See Season End In Class AA Semifinals

The Elizabethton soccer team came up one game short of the state title game.

The Cyclones fell 5-1 to Station Camp in the Class AA State Semifinals on Wednesday night in Murfreesboro. With the loss, Elizabethton’s season ends with a 12-5-4 record.

The Bison jumped out early.

Tyler Fair and Brayden Mrozek scored early goals to take a 2-0 lead 20 minutes into the game. EHS was limited to just three shots in the half as Station Camp added a late goal to take a 3-0 lead into the half.

After play resumed in the second half, the game entered a weather delay that lasted 45 minutes. Station Camp came out of the break quickly and added to the lead.

The Cyclones continued to fight.

Reece Vernon found the back of the net in the 67′, but EHS was unable to mount a rally against the Bison.

As a team, Elizabethton had 13 shots, with seven of which were on goal. The Bison recorded 18 shots – 11 of which were on goal.
