The brackets for the District 1-A tournament are set.
The opening round is set for Friday, Feb. 19 with semifinals slated for Saturday, Feb. 20. Consolation games will be held on Monday, Feb. 22, and the championship games will be Tuesday, Feb. 22. All games will be held at Daniel Boone High School.
For the boys, Hampton claimed the top seed with Cloudland being the second seed. Both of those teams have secured a berth in the Region 1-A tournament. No. 4 North Greene and No. 5 University High will square off in the opening round with the winner facing No. 1 Hampton. In the lower part of the bracket, No. 3 South Greene and No. 6 Unaka will fight to advance with the winner playing No. 2 Cloudland.
On the girls’ side, South Greene continued their reign at the top of the conference by taking the No. 1 seed, and North Greene claiming the No. 2 seed. No. 4 Cloudland and No. 5 Unaka will look to secure a region bid in the opening round with the winner advancing to take on South Greene. No. 3 Hampton and No. 6 University High will also square off in the opening round with the winner advancing to play No. 2 North Greene and earning a region berth.
