Eight athletes from Carter County added to their resumes last week as each was named to the Tennessee Sports Writers Association All-State teams for spring sports.
In baseball, Hampton’s Jayden Kuhn was selected to the Class 2A team as a catcher.
In softball, Cloudland’s Regan Blair represented the Lady ‘Landers in Class A as an outfielder.
A number of county athletes earned spots for track and field.
Elizabethton’s Jamira Smalls was named all-state for the girls’ Class AA Shot Put, while Liahna Nave was selected as a Discus All-State selection for the Lady Cyclones. Arvella Nave was selected for the Class 2A 3200 meters girls’ all-state team.
Elizabethton’s Landry Buckles earned a spot on the boys’ Class AA discus throw.
Happy Valley saw Tyler Bailey and Julian Pate both selected all-state in the boys’ pole vault in Class A.
