It was a clean sweep for Elizabethton at Sullivan South on Monday night.
The Cyclones overcame a two-point third quarter to take a 51-38 victory over the Rebels, while the Lady Cyclones pulled way to take a 93-49 victory.
In the boys’ game, it was back-and-forth battle from the start as EHS held a 12-11 lead after a quarter of play. However, Michael Robinson and the Cyclones outscored the Rebels 20-9 in the second to pull out to a 32-20 advantage.
The third quarter saw the EHS defense keep the game from being disastrous by limiting the Rebels to just six points. From there, Elizabethton took control of the game in the final quarter.
Robinson led the way with a game-high 15 points, while Alex Norwood had 13 points. Jalen Smith had 10 points in the game.
During the girls’ game, a pesky Lady Rebels squad had an upset in mind, but Elizabethton proved to be too strong. After EHS held a 32-19 lead at the end of the first quarter, the Lady Cyclones outscored South 22-12 in the second to extend the lead to 23 at the half.
From there, it was all Elizabethton as the Lady Cyclones outscored the Lady Rebels 39-18 in the second half.
Kayla Marosites led the way with 33 points, while Kelci Marosites had 23 points. Emily Schubert scored 16 points in the win for Elizabethton.
