Carter County continued to have a strong presence in the Tennessee AP Prep Football poll.

In Class 3A, the Cyclones dropped a spot to No. 8 after the heartbreaking loss to Science Hill. Elizabethton tallied 40 points in the poll – just six spots behind No. 7 Dyersburg.

The 3A poll had some movement as Liberty Magnet dropped from No. 2 to No. 6. Alcoa continued to be a unanimous No. 1 with Notre Dame and CAK rounding out the top three.

The Bulldogs climbed a spot to No. 6 in the Class 2A poll. Hampton, who was ranked No. 7 last week, tallied 57 points and was one of four teams to receive at least a first place vote. HHS was 12 points behind No. 5 Waverly.

Marion County climbed to No. 1 in the poll, while Trezevant fell from the top spot to No. 2. Adamsville and Boyd-Buchanan was ranked No. 3 and No. 4, respectively.

Cloudland fell out of the Class 1A poll after last week’s loss to Happy Valley.
