Elizabethton softball was unable to overcome a sluggish start as they saw their season come to a close with a 10-0 loss to Greeneville in the Region 1-AA tournament.
After keeping the Lady Cyclones scoreless in the first inning, Hope Ottinger hit a three-run homerun for the Lady Green Devils as they ran to a 5-0 lead after an inning of play.
Nothing was doing for the Lady Cyclones in the second and Greeneville tacked on two more runs in the home side of the frame.
Elizabethton stymied the Greeneville offense in the third inning. However, they were unable to get anything going. The Lady Cyclones recorded hits in the fifth inning. Greeneville, however, used three more runs in the fourth to secure the win and substate berth.
