Franklin named Head Coach for Appalachian Outlaws

The Appalachian Outlaws have signed Matt Franklin to be their Head Coach when the program starts up in March 2016.

Franklin is from Parrotvile, Tenn., and played college football for Carson-Newman in addition to serving as an assistant for the Eagles.

“We are excited to have Coach Franklin as our Head Coach, his knowledge of the game and his leadership he will be an amazing asset and an amazing leader of men,” Appalachian Outlaws Owner Andy Slagle said. “I believe he is the right Coach to lead us to a championship.”

Over 35 players attended the first player meeting where Franklin signed his contract. The players also signed player agreements, and staff members, including General Manager Austin Crum, special teams coach Bryan Hamby and Defensive Coordinator Glenn Doane, also signed their contracts.

The Appalachian Outlaws Minor League Football Team is a full contact adult developmental football team based out of Elizabethton.
