Girls’ Basketball
Cloudland 69, Sullivan North 35

The Lady ‘Landers jumped out early and never looked back against the Lady Raiders. CHS doubled up SNHS the first two quarters for a double-digit lead.

Shian Strickland had a game-high 19 points, while Johanna Johnson had 11 points. Makalya Shell scored eight points in the win.

Hampton 62, Unicoi County 56

The Lady Bulldogs rallied in the fourth quarter to take the win over Unicoi County. Hampton trailed four points after three quarters of play.

Alexus Grubbs had 23 points to lead all scorers. Shyanne Tuelle had 18 points.


Tennessee High 61, Elizabethton 59

The Lady Cyclones were unable to edge ahead in the closing seconds against a hot-shooting Lady Viking squad.

Haley Burleson led 23 points to lead the Lady Cyclones, while Ashley Depew added 11 points in the game.

Makayla Richards recorded a game-high 24 points to lead the Lady Vikings.

Sullivan Central 68, Happy Valley 62

The Lady Warriors were unable to slip by Central.

Emily Whitaker had 19 points to lead all scorers in the game. Adrienne Henegar had 17 points for the Lady Warrior cause. The Lady Cougars had four scorers in double-digits.

Boys Basketball
Hampton 82, Sullivan North 31

The Bulldogs used a 25-5 second quarter to cruise to the win over the Raiders. Hampton held  North in check allowing them to reach double-digit scoring in just one quarter in the game.

Dru Owens led all scorers with 21 points. Charlie Butler added 15 points, and Jared Andrews tossed in nine points to the Hampton cause.

Sullivan East 76, Cloudland 48

The ‘Landers ran into a hot-shooting Patriot team on Friday night.

CHS trailed by six at the end of the first quarter, but Sullivan East used a quick run to take a 17-point lead into the second half.

Robert Leeper had 13 points in the game. Josh Blair added seven points for the ‘Landers.

Gavin Grubb, who recently set the new career scoring mark in Sullivan East history, led all scorers with 23 points.
